About the role
Are you young, hungry, and eager to learn what drives revenue and profitability in a high-tech B2B environment? Are you passionate about data and what we can learn from it? Join our Sales and Marketing team at COS Systems and work directly with our CRO and Marketing Manager.
We strongly believe that Sales can be Marketing. Our goal is to use cutting-edge tools and data-driven methodologies to automate the process of building awareness and educating our potential clients so that they come to us instead of our sales team having to find them. We work entirely with B2B clients, so this is not mass marketing but an investigative task to find the key decision-makers and the right type of messaging to spark their interest.
As a Sales and Marketing Management Trainee, your tasks include assisting in market research, understanding the market and customer fit of our products and services, participating in sales efforts, shaping marketing campaigns, and playing a key role in data analysis and reporting. It will be a wide variety of tasks, ranging from specific projects to the preparation of recurring reports.
To prepare for a future role within the company, you will learn by doing and undergo active coaching in marketing strategies, product knowledge, digital sales, and marketing techniques. This hands-on experience is designed to equip you with the skills needed to effectively reach and engage target audiences, driving brand awareness and sales.
To succeed in this role, you need to combine market research, business understanding, and very strong skills in working with digital tools. You need to have a broad interest in revenue-generating activities and be very versatile. This is a “spider in the web” position.
Responsibilities include:
Collaborate actively with our Marketing Manager, B2B Sales team, and Solution Experts to develop marketing plans and scout the market for potential clients
Understanding and becoming involved in COS Systems’ portfolio, our sales processes (CRM) and sales cycles
Deal and register maintenance in our CRM
Assisting our Marketing Manager and B2B Sales team with sales-supporting insights, data analysis, and presentations to help the team reach their revenue goals
Managing SEO/SEM
Creating marketing materials and running marketing campaigns.
Working with, testing, and evaluating different digital marketing tools and methods.
Being proactive and having an interest in researching our industry
Building expertise within data-driven B2B marketing

Want to work at our office in Umeå (with flexibility for occasional remote work)
Have a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, or an MBA degree preferably within marketing, or equivalent.
Are a team player
Have strong organizational and communication skills that enable you to work cross-functionally with team members in different time zones and countries.
Have a digital-savvy and data-curious mindset combined with a good understanding of business and marketing.
Have the ability to switch between strategizing and hands-on execution effectively.
Are goal-oriented and yearning to constantly learn

About COS Systems
Everything begins somewhere, and our beginning was in the north of Sweden. COS Business engine was founded in 2008, which is not that long ago but in the infancy of fiber infrastructure technology. In 2009 the Swedish parliament ratified a government order that in 2020, 90 % of all households should have access to high speed internet, symmetrical 100 Mbit/s. Due to a very successful development the goal was raised in 2016, so that 95% should have 100 Mbit/s in 2020 and in 2025 98% of the Swedish households should have access to 1Gbit/s (1,9% should have 100Mbit/s and 0,1% at least 30Mbit/s).
This digital evolution in Sweden has only been possible due to the very high grade of automation of the fiber business and with an Open Access approach where take rates often exceed 80% and customers have a variety of providers to choose from, or being able to keep their existing provider independently of who builds the fiber network.
Swedish society has also become more digital native and being able to work from home was not a problem when Covid came. Sweden is also very high ranked in the tech industry with famous companies like Spotify, Klarna, Mojang, King, Skype, IZettle, Truecaller etc etc
It is in this context COS was built up and has been focusing in developing a software to support this nationwide rollout of a new high speed and robust digital infrastructure in Sweden. With the same focus and vision from day one COS now supports other countries all around the globe with similar challenges.
